HISTORICAL HERITAGE
"Providing maintenance for historical heritage sites is one of the main ways to strengthen the culture of a city. However, old buildings and works of art have highly complex construction details, making it difficult to reproduce or register them.
To do an as is project - a project of the structure as it is at the moment - is a costly process that spends many hours of work, but even so, in the end, it is not possible to have all the details recorded with fidelity.
For this reason, the use of 3D laser scanning to register these historic elements is becoming more widespread every day. Besides capturing the geometric dimensions with millimeter precision, it also offers a reflectance feature of the material and a 3D digital replica, increasing the range of studies and analyses that can be produced."
